My side hedge is well over the fence. How far back can it be cut?
Depends on the species. Lilly pilly and photinia take a hard cut and reshoot well. Conifers generally won't reshoot from bare wood, so there's a limit past which cutting back leaves a permanent gap. Frank will tell you which yours is before starting, not after.
Can you cut back a hedge on the boundary I share with a neighbour?
Frank works on your side of the boundary. Anything requiring access to a neighbour's property is between you and them to arrange — worth sorting before the booking so the job isn't half-finished.
The garden beds are so full nothing else grows. What can be done?
Thinning out what's crowded, cutting back what's overgrown, clearing the weeds underneath and re-mulching. That usually revives what's already there and costs a lot less than starting the bed again.
Do you take the clippings from a big hedge cut-back?
