Schofields is two suburbs in one. There are the older streets around the station, and then the newer release areas toward Tallawong and the Alex Avenue precinct where gardens are still being established for the first time.

New builds starting from nothing. A lot of Schofields yards are still at the bare-dirt stage, or have turf that went down over ground that was never properly prepared. Levelling, clearing builder's leftovers out of the soil and prepping before turf goes down is the difference between a lawn that takes and one that stays patchy for years.
Builder's rubble under the surface. On newer blocks it's common to find brick, mortar and offcuts a few centimetres down. It kills root depth and shows up as dry patches every summer. Worth knowing about before spending money on new turf.
Older streets with mature gardens. Around the station and the established pockets the gardens are decades old, with grown-out shrubs and heavier weed pressure. Those are clean-up jobs rather than setup jobs, and they're priced differently.

I've just moved into a new build with a dirt backyard. Where do I start?
With levelling and soil prep before anything else. Turf laid over compacted clay and builder's rubble will struggle no matter how much you water it. Send photos of the space and Frank will tell you what it actually needs.
Can you lay turf, or only prepare for it?
Preparation, small planting projects, edging and pebble work, yes. For larger turf supply and full landscaping builds Frank will tell you straight if it's beyond what he takes on rather than stretching to it.
Do you service the older part of Schofields near the station?
Yes, the whole 2762 area. The older streets tend to need clean-up and weeding work rather than setup work, which is quoted on condition rather than block size.
How quickly can you get to Schofields?
